The Art of Patience

There is no such thing as perfect.

We are all individuals with our own experiences, personality traits, strengths, and weaknesses. Period.

As we age, we get to know ourselves better. We become increasingly aware of our own traits and can choose if we want to accept them, improve them, or develop new ones. This form of self-awareness allows us to identify our deficiencies so we can minimize the unrealistic expectations we put on ourselves. No one is good at everything. Once we understand that it's okay we are not perfect we will recognize that other people don't have to be either.

By seeing our own imperfections, we can be less judgmental on other peoples imperfections.

When we get to a point in life where we accept ourselves, our inner critic becomes quieter and more patient. Naturally, this transfers to our outer critic as well. We let go of the expectations we may have put on other people.

All of us are continually learning and growing. Let's commit to being more patient with ourselves and others.
