Turn Your Wounds Into Wisdom
Jul 15, 2022Hard things in life can make us feel hurt, angry, judged, sad, and/or bitter. However, there are ALWAYS lessons we can take from difficult situations. These feelings are natural during challenging times, but if we let them linger we are allowing that pain to continue hurting us. Reflecting on the situation and discovering something we can gain from it, we can shift the focus away from our pain. By turning wounds into wisdom, we increase our emotional resiliency and insight to better understand ourselves and others.
I was lucky enough to not only learn this concept through my own difficult experiences when I was younger, but also, I get to help others process and learn from their pain in my work. One example of what I've learned is that everyone could be silently struggling and we need to be kind and have empathy whenever possible.
From the difficult experience I went through when I was younger, I gained this high level of empathy. I honestly don’t know if I would have that high level of empathy if I didn’t go through what I went through. That is the lesson that allowed me to move from suffering to growth.
What is a hard situation you have gone through? Is there something positive you gained from that experience?
Can you embrace your emotional growth journey by focusing on the lessons you've learned? If yes, you have already turned your wounds into wisdom.
Take that wisdom and release any residual hurt and pain so you can have the best life you deserve.
