Stop & Smell the Roses

We spend much of our days so focused on what needs to get done and being distracted by our phones that we miss some amazing moments.

Stop and smell the roses. The saying is so simple but I find myself needing to be very conscientious and mindful of my surroundings and acknowledge the amazing moments every day. 

Every time I go out to my car, there's an opportunity to look at the beautiful sky and nature around. There are these opportunities at many points throughout the day. Mindfulness could start first thing in the morning with a few quiet minutes in bed. The same with taking a few minutes before going to sleep. Also, stopping to smell the roses could be as simple as appreciating the delicious meal that you are about to eat.

If you are somebody that already stops and values these moments, congratulations. If you need to work on this, I challenge you to put down your phone and minimize distractions to find those moments throughout your day where you can stop and smell the roses. Open the windows and breath in some fresh air, take a hot shower, go for a swim, take a short walk, or enjoy a moment to sit in silence.

I know I say this a lot, but you DESERVE this!
