Road Trip Activities

Traveling with family can sometimes be stressful or chaotic. So, I decided to share some activities on how to add more fun to the chaos so you can learn to appreciate all that comes with the adventures of traveling with your kiddos.

Let's talk about road trips! 

When planning a road trip, sometimes it can be fun to print up a list of questions to ask each other along the way. Not only will this get the conversation going, but it will also keep the kids entertained. Often, one question can lead to other deeper conversations. 

Other fun things to do during a road trip could be: 

1. Try to find license plates for as many states as you can.
2. There are so many fun things to see along the way. You can create a scavenger hunt where you make a list of things to find during the trip (a cow, a dump truck, a police car, a yellow jeep, etc...)
3. Play the game "I'm going on a camping trip... and I'll bring something that starts with the letter 'A'. The next person says "I'm going on a camping trip, and I'll bring that letter 'A' thing and come up with a letter 'B' thing..." until you can get through the entire alphabet. 
4. Create a playlist or download some fun audio books or 'who done it' mysteries. 
5. Buy a map and have your kids find different landmarks. Or have them track the journey.
6. On the way home, you can ask each other what their favorite or funniest part of the trip was.

When planning a trip sometimes we can put more emphasis on the actual destination but if we consider the journey to and from, we can create even more special moments and fun memories.
