3+3=6, so does 5+1

This quote really means a lot to me. It reminds me that we all have our own circumstances and reasons why. We also all have our own personalities and the way we like to do things. Just because two people do things differently doesn’t mean one of them is wrong.

I did a really neat assignment one time where we all had sheets of paper. We were asked to close our eyes, fold the paper in half, then again in half, then tear off a corner, then fold again, etc. We all followed the same instructions, but our papers looked different. I loved this experiment because it shows you even how we interpret things is not the same. And that’s ok.

Too often people judge each other for the way they come at a problem or handle a situation. I know that I don't like to be judged. Who does? We are not entitled to judge others or put our beliefs on others or make them feel bad. Unfortunately, not enough of us realize that and we are generally following what we learned in our society about people judging others.

If we know that being judged makes us feel hurt, insecure, disconnected, and even shame, why on earth would we do it to others? It really doesn't make sense.

We are all doing the best we can in life. If we can learn to love each other and accept each other's differences, it makes us stronger individuals and more connected as a society.
