Forgiveness means no longer holding onto emotional pain.
Imagine the relief you could feel by truly freeing yourself from the hurt and anger you are holding onto. Imagine coming at life with more joy.
Too often, we let past hurts impact our lives for long after the actual incident occurred. This allows the person that hurt us to keep on hurting us, and continue to take up space in our heads and hearts.
Forgiveness means not allowing the painful behaviors or actions of another to continue in our life…. it means we are finally ready to be free from the pain.
In order to let go and forgive we first identify, feel, and express our emotions. Processing emotions is an act of healing and growth. By working through our emotions we don't allow them to build up inside. By releasing the negative we create space for good thoughts and feelings.
Then it is time to forgive and move forward with closure and positivity. The future will be filled with more lightness, joy, and happiness.
Forgiveness isn't something you do for the person who wronged you; it's something you do for your wellbeing.
