Be Yourself
Jun 12, 2020How many years have been wasted worrying about what others think of you? How many times have you left a conversation thinking about all the clever things you wish you had said?
Be authentic, they say. But how can you do that when your inner voice is repeating the negative self-talk you've had for years?
Think of where your self-talk came from. Somewhere along the way, someone made you feel like you are not enough, or maybe that you're too much. Someone said something or acted in a certain way to put you down.
Maybe you are shy and people have said you are cold. Being shy means that you are an observer, a listener, someone who carefully chooses who they open up to.
Maybe you are outgoing and talkative and people have said you are intimidating or aggressive. Being outgoing means you are curious, you enjoy talking things out because it helps you understand other's situations.
No matter what that negative self-talk is, once you embrace all that is special about you, you will find like-minded and supportive people. You will find that they appreciate and adore all that is you. Live your truth.
Remember that you are good enough. You are special. There are people in your life that will reinforce this. Family, friends, co-workers, and people you may not have even met yet.
To start the transformation, you have to change that inner voice to one more positive. Every day try to think of the good things that make you special. I understand that self-reflection is really hard, but try and think about the nice things people have said to you and repeat those words to yourself again and again until you really believe it.
Too much time has been wasted on trying to fit in. Too many opportunities have been missed. Don't let any more time pass.
Start Now. You are deserving.
