Actions Speak Louder

It may be hard to believe that someone is not being truthful because we always want to feel safe in our relationships. But, what happens when you get that gut feeling that you are being lied to?
When somebody is saying something that gives you pause, doubt, or questions, you may be sensing that their actions are not matching what they are telling you. Obsessing over if someone is being honest can make you feel crazy.
A healthy tactic to get to the truth is to take a pause. Through the other persons actions, the truth will always reveal itself. Don't waste another minute worrying, feeling insecure, or doubting yourself. Go out there and live your best life. This will allow you to practice having healthy boundaries to protect your well-being. Taking a pause gives you clarity to observe without a high emotion attached to the feelings doubt and frustration.
People lie for many reasons. Sometimes it's to avoid hurting someone's feelings, other times it's to protect their self-interests. People also lie to avoid taking responsibility. But always... the lie is about them and not you.
Protect your heart. If you continue to let yourself feel hurt or crazy by somebody you care about, it's time to create boundaries around them.
We cannot control how others behave, but we can control our response to it. When honesty is something we value, we deserve to get that in return.
